The University of Colorado Buffaloes (CU) sports production group, BuffVision, drew the lead when the Pac-12 Conference determined to begin live-streaming sports coverage via Twitter. Pac-12 struck a deal with Twitter to stream nine games this year and kicked off the package with a women’s soccer match between CU and Oregon on October 6, 2016. “It was a real honor for us,” says Eric Pelloni, assistant director of BuffVision at the University of Colorado. “We took it very seriously and made sure that we had our A-Team working the show.”
The production suite for the game consisted of three manned cameras feeding into a NewTek TriCaster production switcher and a NewTek 3Play for replay, with a branding assist from the Pac-12 in the form of a customized TV Graphics All-In-One laptop-based graphics solution, which is NewTek NDI-enabled and set up to deliver a universal scorebug, lower-thirds, wipes, and other graphics in Pac-12 Plus branding.
